The application process will vary depending on where you registered. It takes 7 days if you applied from the Kingston office, while applications made in the Montego Bay office will take 14 days. The applicant, if collecting the passport in person, should be able to show the receipt received during the application process. If the applicant is sending a proxy to collect the passport, an authorization letter signed by the applicant, and a copy of the applicant’s ID should also be presented along with the receipt.

Application for Jamaican Birth Certificate from Overseas

However, to request for a copy, embassies forward applications to the RGD. The Embassy stated that applications sent in from overseas will take anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks to complete.

If you require more information on processing passports, birth certificates, or visas, simply get in touch with us and we’ll guide you through it. Get in touch via email, telephone, or our contact form and let’s get your application started.
